In 2015, the country is devastated by two consecutive earthquakes with a magnitudes of over 7 on Richter’s ladder. Seismic activity is well known in this part of the world with over 4000 eathquakes recorded each year in the country, the equivalent of an earthquake every two hours!
The effort to rebuild the country has to be done with this issue in mind despite the fact that more than 25% of the population lives with less than 1.90 US $ per day. Little by little community center are built in rural areas and offer the villagers a place to get together and access all kind of services linked to culture, health, education, or simply sanitary…Indeed, in rural areas, less than one third of the people have access to a toilet, against 50% in urban areas.
